    about eric

California artist Eric Edner has been forming molten glass at the torch for many years.   As an active member of the Central Sierra Arts Council, Sierra Professional Artists, and International Glass Art Society, Edner has exhibited his work extensively.   He has given glass-working demonstrations at venues such as the Eugene Glass School and California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo.   Primarily self-taught, Eric has also worked with some of the most highly regarded glass artists in the country including Robert Mickelson, David Willis and Cesare Toffolo.   The unique beauty of Eric's exquisite glass pieces reflects his technical skill and intimate experience with the natural world.   He has traveled and lived throughout the western United States in diverse natural settings ranging from the desert coastline of Southern California to the lush forests of the Pacific Northwest.

Eric's work is also informed by the centuries-old tradition of classical Venetian vessel making, a disciplined and elegant legacy.   Inspired by these complementary influences, Eric has achieved a wonderful synthesis of dynamic organic forms with sophisticated vessel designs.   As he says, "I strive to merge these contrasting aesthetics in a manner that emphasizes the unique qualities of each."
